49ers Place CBs Jamar Taylor & Ken Webster On IR, Waive S Chris Edwards

The San Francisco 49ers announced Tuesday that they’ve placed CBs Jamar Taylor (ACL) and Ken Webster (hamstring) on injured reserve and waived S Chris Edwards.

Taylor, 30, is a former second-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2013. Miami traded Taylor and the No. 250 overall pick to the Browns back in 2016 for the No. 223 selection.

Taylor was in the final year of a four-year, $3.626 million contract when the Browns signed him to a three-year, $15 million deal. He then traded to the Cardinals for a 2020 sixth-round pick in 2018.

From there, Taylor had brief stints with the Broncos and Seahawks before finishing out the 2019 season with the Falcons. The 49ers opted to him to a contract in July and he’s been on and off of their roster this season.

In 2020, Taylor has appeared in eight games for the 49ers and recorded 22 tackles, a sack, two interceptions, and three passes defended.
