The San Francisco 49ers announced Wednesday evening that they’ve re-signed WR Chris Harper to their practice squad now that he’s passed through waivers unclaimed.
The 49ers’ practice squad now consists of:
- LB Shayne Skov
- WR Dres Anderson
- LB Marcus Rush
- TE Je’Ron Hamm
- OL Fahn Cooper
- OL Alex Balducci
- CB Prince Charles Iworah
- OL Norman Price
- RB Kelvin Taylor
- WR Chris Harper
Harper, 22, originally signed on with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent out of California back in May last year. He was able to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason but was later waived and signed to the Patriots’ practice squad.
Harper was on and off of the Patriots’ practice squad last year and was once again cut loose coming out of the preseason this year. The 49ers later signed him to their practice squad before promoting him for Week 1’s game.
In 2015, Harper was active for five games and caught a single pass for six yards receiving and no touchdowns.
