AFC East Notes: Bills, Dolphins, Jets

Bills

Dolphins

Dolphins HC Brian Flores declared RB Kalen Ballage their Week 13 starter against the Eagles.

Kalen is the starter [but] that’s without taking a deep dive into Philadelphia,” Flores said, via Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.

Flores added that the Dolphins must start producing “more consistently” early on in games going forward.

“We have to move the ball more consistently early in the game — as long as we move the ball, I don’t care how we get it done. We need to play better and move it more consistently.”

  • According to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, Dolphins owner Stephen Ross did not tell GM Chris Grier to trade down and take QB Lamar Jackson in 2018.
  • Ross did suggest exploring a trade down to potentially acquire another first-round pick, but Miami elected to stay at No. 11 overall and pick DB Minkah Fitzpatrick.

Jets

Jets HC Adam Gase said second-round RT Chuma Edoga is “week-to-week” with a Grade 2 MCL sprain.

We’re going to take it week-to-week,” Gase said, via Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News. “I don’t want to put an exact time frame on it, but we’ll kind of see what this week brings us and then kind of see how he feels as we go and see when the next time he can get out to actually practice.
