Dolphins

  • Regarding Tannehill, Dolphins HC Adam Gase said they are being cautious with how much he is throwing during practice, but other than that “he’s done his normal routine there.” (Adam Beasley)
  • Tannehill said when asked about his future: “My future hasn’t been discussed. It’s not a focus for me first now. I’m focused on winning.” (Joe Schad)

Trumaine Johnson

The Jets signed CB Trumaine Johnson to a five-year, $72.5 million contract this past March, but he hasn’t performed at the level many expected.

Johnson understands the frustration from fans and says he plans on “finishing strong.”

“They love you, they hate, then they love you again,” Johnson said, via Connor Hughes of the Athletic. “You’re going to have days you struggle. You’re going to have days you’re great. I play cornerback. As a corner, you’re going to get beat. The main focus is to win more than you lose, play wise.

“I block that outside noise out. I stay positive. I believe in myself. As I said, it’s been up and down this year. I plan on finishing strong.”

Jets

Jets QB Sam Darnold said he’s lobbying to play on Sunday against the Titans and he’s hopeful he’ll be able to.

I’m hopeful, but at the same time, seeing how I feel every single day, assess it after every practice and go from there,” Darnold said, per Manish Mehta. “It’s a little sore, but nothing crazy. Just treating it. Ice tub and all that. Feeling good. Feeling really good.
