Browns

Browns WR Rashard Higgins that said that Josh Gordon is in “good spirits” but he isn’t sure when Gordon will return to the team.

“We were texting [Friday],” Higgins said, via ESPN.com. “He’s in good spirits. We don’t talk about anything about the field or anything. We just talk about, ‘Hey, what’s up bro? How you doing?’ We’re not too concerned. We know Josh is handling his business off the field. When he comes back, he’ll be ready to go.”

Meanwhile, Browns GM John Dorsey told 92.3 The Fan (via Cleveland.com) that Gordon he expects Gordon to be back but there’s still “no timetable for his return.”

Chargers

• Chargers sixth-round WR Dylan Cantrell is out indefinitely with a knee injury. (Eric Williams)

Steelers

• Steelers HC Mike Tomlin announced that OLB Bud Dupree is in the concussion protocol. (Jeremy Fowler)
• The Steelers release first depth chart of the year and Jeremy Fowler notes that Pittsburgh has Vance McDonald in place as their starting tight end with ILB Tyler Matakevich starting over Jon Bostic.
• The quarterback depth chart is 1) Ben Roethlisberger, 2) Landry Jones, 3) Joshua Dobbs, 4) Mason Rudolph.
