AFC Notes: Jets, Patriots, Ravens

Jets

  • ESPN’s Rich Cimini notes Jets QB Sam Darnold could miss more than one game with his sprained shoulder, which is not good for his development and the team’s evaluation of him.
  • Jets HC Adam Gase said after Sunday’s game that WR Chris Hogan will get an MRI on his ankle, but added: “It doesn’t look good.” (Rich Cimini)
  • Gase did say that WRs Breshad Perriman and Vyncint Smith could be ready next week.

Patriots

  • Per ESPN’s Mike Reiss, Patriots G Joe Thuney has been even more impressed with sixth-round rookie G Michael Onwenu because he’s been stellar even while switching positions multiple times: “Credit to him. He’s switching right, left and [other] stuff; that’s not an easy task, especially for a younger guy.”
  • Jay Glazer reports that Patriots QB Cam Newton still has yet to produce two consecutive negative tests in order to be cleared.
  • The fact that the Patriots’ game has been moved to next Sunday gives him a chance to return, according to Glazer.

Ravens

  • According to the Athletic’s Jeff Zrebiec, Ravens UDFA Trystan Colon-Castillo has received some interest from other teams while on Baltimore’s practice squad, which could be why Baltimore pulled him up.
  • Ravens LB Otaro Alaka is expected to be out for the rest of the season. (Jamison Hensley)
