Broncos

• Broncos LB Brandon Marshall (knee) said he is “extremely unlikely” to play on Sunday against the Texans. If he can’t go, Josey Jewell would start in his place. (Ryan O’Halloran)

Chiefs

Chiefs HC Andy Reid explained their decision to not make any trades at the deadline.

“I mean that’d probably be a good question for [G.M.] Brett [Veach],” Reid said, via Pro Football Talk. “I know where his mind is, there just wasn’t anything there that he felt he needed to move on. He felt comfortable with doing that. He’s not going to do something just to do it to appease. He’s going to do what’s best for the Chiefs and he’s really good about that. That’s just where he’s at.”

• Giants S Landon Collins said during an interview with TMKS ESPN that one team he heard had interest in him was the Chiefs.
• Jordan Raanan reports that the Giants didn’t want to move him unless it was for a major haul (multiple high picks).

Raiders

• Raiders HC Jon Gruden said Wednesday it’s a “long shot” for DT Eddie Vanderdoes (knee) to be activated from injured reserve before Thursday’s game against the 49ers. (Michael Gehlken)
