Broncos

  • Broncos executive VP John Elway said Wednesday during an interview with Orange & Blue 760 thatย he was “a little bit surprised”ย to hear that Oregon QB Justin Herbert decided to return for his senior season. (Nicki Jhabvala)

Chiefs

  • Chiefs HC Andy Reid said Wednesday that WR Sammy Watkins recently had his walking boot removed and is โ€œmaking progress,โ€ despite the fact that he won’t play in Week 17. (BJ Kissel)

Raiders

  • Raiders veteran WRย Jordy Nelson said Wednesday that he doesnโ€™t want to play forever but plans to be back next year. Although, Nelson added that โ€œitโ€™s not always the playerโ€™s decision.โ€ (Scott Bair)
  • The Raiders declined to activate RT Donald Penn from injured reserve on Wednesday, despite designated him to return. (NFLTR)
