According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, the Jacksonville Jaguars and first-round pick Justin Blackmon haven’t spent a lot of time discussing a contract agreement. Florio adds that a source with knowledge of the situation has mentioned that the two sides do expect to sit down in the near future and begin negotiations.
The fact that Blackmon was arrested for an aggravated DUI and had a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.24 percent, should complicate matters. Jacksonville will most likely be looking for some long-term protection in this deal, but the fact that he was drafted at No. 5 overall suggests that his agent will try to prevent this inclusion.
