Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Bears’ brass has begun a full examination of the football operation from top to bottom.
In fact, Rapoport says that the Bears have brought in an “outside consultant” to help with the organizational evaluation. Rapoport says that everything is currently under review in Chicago.
Bears HC John Fox is believed to be on “shaky” ground right now. Although, Rapoport says that the Bears believe it’s still too early to properly judge the front office and GM Ryan Pace.
Fox still has two years remaining on his four-year contract while Pace has three remaining on his five-year contract.
Sources have told Rapoport that there were some intense meetings this week involving the front office and some of the team’s coaches and it’s clear that not everyone is on the same page right now.
Rapoport adds that rival executives and coaches have criticized “almost everything the Bears have done this year.” In fact, some have questioned whether Fox is as invested in the job as he once was while others have questioned some of the team’s roster moves like having Matt Barkley on their roster.
According to Rapoport, “everyone has been put on notice” in Chicago.
We’ll have more regarding the Bears and potential changes as the news is available.
