Bears Release DB/KR Omar Bolden

Jeff Dickerson of ESPN reporting that the  Chicago Bears released DB/KR Omar Bolden on Friday.

This comes as a bit of surprising, considering that Bolden was signed as a free agent back in March.

Bolden had ties to HC John Fox from their time together in Denver and looked to be in the mix to be their kick returner this season.

Bolden, 27, is a former fourth-round pick of the Broncos back in 2012. He has played out his rookie contract with Denver before signing a one-year deal worth $760,000 with the Bears.

In 2015, Bolden appeared in nine games and recorded five tackles while serving as their kick and punt returner. He accumulated 342 kick return yards and 123 punt return yards with one punt being returned for a touchdown.
