Beckner, 23, was drafted in the seventh round out of Missouri by the Buccaneers in the 2019 NFL Draft. He signed a four-year, $2.6 million deal but was waived by Tampa Bay coming out of the preseason and signed to the practice squad.
The NFL suspended Beckner four games for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy last year and he was cut a few weeks later.
During his four-year college career, Beckner recorded 120 total tackles, 13.5 sacks, one forced fumble, two recoveries, an interception and four pass defenses in 42 career games.
