Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports that the Bears hosted seven free agents for tryouts on Monday.
The full list includes:
- DL Daryle Banfield
- DL Fadol Brown
- DL P.J. Johnson
- DL Jay-Tee Tiuli
- OT Kyle Murphy
- C Anthony Fabiano
- C Keegan Render
Biggs mentions that the Bears are expected to sign Brown to their practice squad.
Murphy, 25, is a former sixth-round pick of the Packers back in 2016. He signed a four-year, $2.4 million contract with the Packers, but was placed on injured reserve with a foot injury last September.
The Packers later waived Murphy in December. From there, Murphy signed on to the Rams’ practice squad and returned to Los Angeles on a futures contract.
In 2017, Murphy appeared in three games for the Packers and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 54 offensive tackle out of 72 qualifying players.
Brown, 26, originally signed on with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of Mississippi back in May of last year. He was later re-signed to Oakland’s practice squad and brought back on a futures contract.
The Packers claimed Brown off of waivers last year and brought him back on an exclusive rights contract this past offseason.
In 2019, Brown has appeared in four games for the Packers, but has yet to record a statistic.
