Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports that WR Roy Williams has beaten out WR Johnny Knox for the teams starting No. 1 wide receiver opposite of Devin Hester.
Knox appeared to have out played Williams throughout the preseason and training camp but offensive coordinator Mike Martz seemed to be more interested what Williams brought to the table.
A lot was made about Williams conditioning early on in camp but he has since said that he was joking and added that it’s really not a problem. The Bears are putting a lot of faith into a number of guys that were released by other teams rather than some of their younger players but at this point it seems like the Bears are all in anyways.
