David Ovalle of the Miami Herald reports Bengals RB Mark Walton was arrested or marijuana possession back in January after he was pulled over for not wearing a seat belt.
Officers found a bag of marijuana in the car on the floorboard after searching the car.
Walton was not jailed, but agreed to sign a document promising to appear in court.
Prosecutors revealed the charge on Monday after Walton was recently jailed on the unrelated misdemeanor battery charge.
Regarding the battery incident, Walton was arrested after he blocked a garage entrance with his car, which started an argument between him and two others.
Walton allegedly grabbed the phone from a woman involved and “got into a tussle” with the woman, resulting in “scratches” on Walton and the woman.
Walton, 21, is a former fourth-round pick of the Bengals back in 2018. He’s entering the second year of his four-year, $3,145,348 and stands to make a base salary of $570,000 for the 2019 season.
In 2018, Walton appeared in 14 games for the Bengals and rushed for 34 yards while catching five passes for 41 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
