According to Ian Rapoport, Bengals second-round rookie TE Drew Sample was diagnosed with a high ankle sprain following Sunday’s loss to the Ravens.
Sample is still undergoing tests to determine the exact severity of the injury but Rapoport mentions injured reserve is considered a possibility for the rookie.
Sample, 23, was drafted in the second round by the Bengals out of Washington in the 2019 NFL Draft. He signed a four-year rookie deal worth $5.5 million.
In 2019, Sample has appeared in nine games for the Bengals and caught five passes for 30 yards.
