Bilal Powell Wins Jets Third-Down RB Job

Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports that Jets RB Bilal Powell has won the team’s third-down back job over Joe McKnight.

Powell has certainly been a stand out player for the Jets during training camp, but he’s clearly behind Shonn Greene who is expected to remain atop of the team’s depth chart this season, barring an injury. McKnight should at least see some work from time-to-time, but Powell will get a shot at performing on third-downs and in the passing game.
