There had been talk for a months that at least one of Whaley or Ryan could be out in Buffalo. However, indications in recent days were that both men were likely to survive to see another season.
While they may have bought another year in their current roles, it will be interesting to see if the team’s expectations are a playoff berth in 2016.
Earlier in the day, Hall of Fame GM Bill Polian said that he would not take a consulting role with the team, so that idea can be put to rest.
Although, should the Bills struggle next year, there’s a chance they could look to clean house and start over.
