Bills Decline DE Shaq Lawson’s Fifth-Year Option

According to Mike Garafolo, the Bills have decided to decline DE Shaq Lawson‘s fifth-year option. 

The move means Lawson will be an unrestricted free agent following the 2019 season. 

Lawson, 24, is a former first-round pick of the Bills back in 2016. He’s entering the final year of his four-year, $10.27 million contract that included $9.82 million guaranteed and stands to make a base salary of $1.85 million in the final year of the agreement.

In 2018, Lawson appeared in 14 games for the Bills and recorded 30 tackles, four sacks, two forced fumbles and five pass defenses.
