Bills QB Josh Allen In Concussion Protocol

Bills HC Sean McDermott announced that QB Josh Allen is in the NFL’s concussion protocol after taking a hit from Patriots CB Jonathan Jones during Sunday’s game.

โ€œJosh Allen is in the concussion protocol. It’s disappointing because there’s no room for that kind of play in the NFL,โ€ McDermott said of the play.

Allen was replaced by Matt Barkley, who would take over the team’s starter while Allen is out.

Entering today’s game, Allen had appeared in three games and completed 64.1 percent of his passes for 750 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions. He had also rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns.

Allen, 23, is a former first-round pick of the Bills back in 2018. He signed a four-year, $21,265,508 contract with the Bills that includes a $13,545,824 signing bonus.

The contract includes a fifth-year option for the Bills to pick up in 2021.

Weโ€™ll have more regarding Allen as the news is available.
