Cox, 25, wound up signing on with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent out of Florida back in 2017. He was waived coming out of the preseason but was later added to their practice squad before eventually promoted to the Panthers’ active roster.
Cox managed to make the 53-man roster in 2018 and was re-signed last offseason as an exclusive rights free agent. He ended up bouncing on and off the Panthers active roster and practice squad before the Browns signed him late in the season.
Cleveland did not tender Cox this offseason and he was an unrestricted free agent.
For his career, Cox has appeared in 19 games for the Panthers and recoded 17 tackles, no sacks and a fumble recovery.
