The Buffalo Bills announced the signing of DLย Red Bryant and RBย Cierre Wood on Wednesday.
- Buffalo also waivedย TE Chris Manhertz and CB Rod Sweeting to make room for their new additions.
The Bills broughtย Bryant in for a workout in recent days along withย OLB Marcus Benard and OLBย Quentin Groves, who was recently signed to a contract as well.
Bryant, 31,ย found surprisingly little interest as a free agent following his release from the Jaguars. While he’s not an impact pass rusher, he has been a very solid run-defender in recent years.
In 2014, Bryant appeared in all 16 games for Jacksonville and recorded 22 tackles, a half sack, and a forced fumble.ย Pro Football Focusย has him rated as the No. 31 defensive end in a 4-3 defenseย out of 59ย qualifying players.
We hadย him rated as the No. 4ย player in ourย Top 25 Available Free Agents list.
Wood, 24, signed on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame back in 2013. However, he lasted just a few months with the team before he was placed on waivers. Since then, Wood has played for the Patriots, Ravens and most recently with the Seahawks.
Last year,ย Wood appeared in three games and ran for nine yards on three carries while contributingย on special teams as well.
