Adam Schefter is reporting that the Bills intend to sign Panthers DT Star Lotulelei to a five-year contract.
Lotulelei, 28, was taken with the No. 14 overall pick in the 2013 NFL draft. He played out the final year of his four-year, $9.605 million contract before the Panthers picked up his fifth-year option last year.
Lotulelei made a base salary of $6 million for the 2017 season.
In 2017, Lotulelei appeared in all 16 games and recorded 25 tackles, 1.5 sacks, a fumble recovery and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 109 interior defensive lineman out of 122 qualifying players.
