Bills Release CB Javier Arenas, Sign TE Jimmay Mundine

The Bills announced a number of roster moves on Sunday. Buffalo has signed TE Jimmay Mundine, released CB Javier Arenas and WR Gary Chambers, while placing LB Kevin Reddick on waivers/injured list.

The Bills also signed LBs Brandon Spikes and David Hawthorne on Sunday, so they needed to cut players to make room on the active roster for the recent additions.

Reddick will revert to the team’s injured reserve if he clears waivers.

Mundine, 24, is an undrafted free agent out of Kansas that originally signed on with the Patriots last year. Unfortunately, he was one of the team’s roster cuts when they trimmed down to 75 players.

He has yet to make an NFL appearance.

Arenas, 28, was selected by the Chiefs in the second-round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He spent his first three years in the league with the Chiefs before signing a one-year contract with Arizona in 2013.

The Falcons later signed him to a contract in March of last year before the Jets signed him to a contract before the start of the season. However, he was among their final roster cuts.

Although he never made an appearance last season, the Bills elected to sign Arenas to a reserve/future contract back in February.

In 2014, Arenas appeared in all 6 games and totaled nine tackles and one pass defense.
