Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Bills RB LeSean McCoy is expected to remain in Buffalo for not just this year, but also for the 2019 season.
This comes after McCoy surfaced in trade rumors earlier in the week.
Rapoport confirms that the Eagles did discuss a potential trade for McCoy, but sources have told him that compensation was not discussed and the conversation was more of a “feeling out” than anything else.
The Bills are believed to be seeking a lot in return for McCoy and while the Eagles have two second-round picks, Rapoport says Philadelphia doesn’t appear willing to part with that kind of compensation for McCoy.
Rapoport expects the Eagles to keep searching for other options and remain in contact with the Bills as the trade deadline draws closer.
McCoy, 30, is a former second-round pick of the Eagles back in 2009. After six years in Philadelphia, McCoy was traded to the Bills, who later signed him to a five-year, $40 million contract that included $20 million guaranteed.
McCoy stands to make base salaries of $6 million and $6.075 million over the next two years of the agreement.
In 2018, McCoy has appeared in four games and rushed for 170 yards on 45 carries (3.8 YPC) to go along with 10 receptions for 64 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
