Broncos & CB Chris Harris “Extremely Close” To New One-Year Deal

Mike Klis of 9 News reports that the Broncos and CB Chris Harris are “extremely close” to an agreement on a one-year contract.

According to Klis, both sides are hoping to have an agreement in place at some point Tuesday.

Recent reports mentioned that the Broncos and Harris appeared to be moving closer to a deal after the two sides met this past weekend.

Harris was seeking $15 million per year as part of a new deal, but reports have said that he may have come down from this figure in terms of his asking price.

While Harris previously requested a trade, the Broncos have maintained that they have no plans to do so.

Harris, 29, wound up signing on with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Kansas back in 2011. He has played all seven years of his NFL career in Denver.

Harris is entering the final year of his five-year, $42.5 million contract that included a $10 million signing bonus and stands to make a base salary of $7.8 million for the 2019 season.

In 2018, Harris appeared in 11 games for the Broncos and recorded 48 tackles, one sack, three interceptions returned for a touchdown and 10 pass defenses.

We’ll have more regarding Harris as the news is available.
