Broncos Not Expected To Place CB Chris Harris On IR, Despite Fractured Fibula

Update:

Ian Rapoport reports that despite fracturing his fibula on Sunday, the Broncos are not considering placing CB Chris Harris on injured reserve.

Instead,ย Rapoport says that Denver plans toย keep him on the roster and if all goes well, could return for the (gulp) playoffs.

Harris is reportedly dealing with more aย hairline fracture.

Broncos CB Chris Harrisย suffered a fractured fibula during Sunday’s game against the Bengals, according to Mike Klis.

The injury will almost certainly lead to Harris being placed on season-ending injured reserve in the coming days.

Harris, 29, wound up signing on with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Kansas back in 2011. He has played all seven years of his NFL career in Denver.

Harris is in the fourth year of his five-year, $42.5 million contract that included a $10 million signing bonus and stands to make base salaries of $7.4 million and $7.8 million over the final two years of the agreement.

In 2018, Harris has appeared in 11 games for the Broncos and recorded 48 tackles, one sack, three interceptions returned for a touchdown and 10 pass defenses.

We’ll have more regarding Harrisย as the news is available.
