Broncos Sign Veteran DT Ahtyba Rubin

Peter Schrager is reporting that the Broncos are expected to sign DT Ahtyba Rubin to a contract at some point Friday.

Rubin was linked to the Broncos a few weeks ago when the Seahawks were fielding trade offers for him before they eventually cut him loose as they trimmed their roster down to 53 players.

Rubin, 31, is a former sixth-round pick of the Browns back in 2008. He spent seven years in Cleveland before signing a one-year deal with the Seahawks.

Rubin was entering the second year of a three-year, $12 million contract that contained $5.5 million guaranteed and set to earn a base salary of $1.7 million this year when the Seahawks cut him loose last weekend.

In 16 games for the Seahawks and recorded 38 tackles, one sack, two forced fumbles, and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 90 interior defensive lineman out of 125 qualifying players.
