Broncos Have No Interest In Trading For Maurice Jones-Drew

Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports that the Broncos are “not in play” for Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew, who has been rumored to be available.

The Broncos were tossed out as potential option for other trade targets in the past like DeAngelo Williams, citing the John Fox’s tendency to go with a running back committee and the fact that he was familiar with Williams.

Klis adds that Denver likes “the potential crash-n-dash tailback tandem they have in Willis McGahee and Ronnie Hillman.”

Taking Hillman in this year’s draft was a clear sign that they were moving forward with the current players on their roster, versus trading away draft picks in return for declining assets.
