The Denver Broncos officially placed TE Jake Butt on injured reserve Tuesday.
It’s worth mentioning that the NFL changed the rules regarding injured reserve for the 2020 season and players can return from the list in just three weeks.
Butt, 25, is a former fifth-round of the Broncos back in 2017. Before he suffered an ACL injury at Michigan, Butt was considered a first-round talent and one of the best tight ends in a very deep class.
Butt signed a four-year, $2.7 million contract with the Broncos that included a $300,948 signing bonus.
In 2020, Butt has appeared in five games for the Broncos and caught two passes for five yards and no touchdowns.
