Update:
Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported onย Monday’s “Good Morning Football”ย that theย Broncos are expected to start QB Trevor Siemianย on Thursday against the Chargers.
“My understanding is Trevor Siemian is expected to be the starter for theBroncos on Thursday night,” Rapoport said. “That really was the plan going into Sunday. Have Paxton Lynch, the first-round quarterback, start, give Trevor Siemian a couple extra days to heal for the Chargers on Thursday night, and then let Siemian go back out there — deal with some pain, yes — and of course he does have that separated non-throwing shoulder, which can be painful, but not debilitating as it comes to being able to throw. Plus, it will also give Siemian a full week to prepare for the Chargers whereas Paxton Lynch, the first-rounder, would have had just a truncated week of preparation. So it seems, unless something changes over the next couple days, that it will be Siemian back in as the starter for Denver.”

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that while Broncos QB Trevor Siemian wonโt start Sunday’s game and is instead likely to be inactive, heโs still expected to be ready to go for their Week 6 game against the Chargers on Thursday.
Sieminaย suffered aย shoulder last week and the Broncos ultimately decided to go with rookie Paxton Lynch for their Week 5 matchup with the Falcons. However, the team is reportedly prepared to hand the job back to Siemian when he’s ready, which probably doesn’t come as a huge surprise, as Lynch struggled against the Falcons today.
Siemian, 24, was taken in the seventh round of last year’s draft. He’s currently int he second year of his four-year, $2.33 million contract and set to make a base salary of $525,000 for the 2016 season.
Entering today’s game, Siemian had thrown for 824 yards while completing 67.3 percent of his passes to go along with six touchdowns and three interceptions.ย Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 20 quarterback out of 35 qualifying players
We’ll have more regarding Siemian’s injury as the news is available.
