The Denver Broncos have signed three players futures contracts for the 2018 season on Wednesday including WR Kenny Bell, DT DeShawn Williams and DL Andreas Knappe, according to Nicki Jhabvala.
As of now, the Broncos have signed 13 players to futures deals including:
- TE Brian Parker
- WR Tim Patrick
- DE Stansly Maponga
- OT Jeremiah Poutasi
- DEย Jhaustin Thomas
- WRย River Cracraft
- DT Paul Boyette
- DB Jordan Moore
- LB Marcus Rush
- WR Jordan Leslie
- WR Kenny Bell
- DT DeShawn Williams
- DL Andreas Knappe
Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.
Bell, 25, is a former fifth-round pick of the Buccaneers back in 2015.ย The Buccaneers elected to cut Bell loose coming out of the preseason last year with an injury designation and he later reverted to their injured reserve list.
Tampa Bay waived him with an injury settlement soon after and he signed onto the Ravens’ practice squad. Baltimore waived him with an injury designation and he reverted to injured reserve back in August. The Ravens waived Bell from I.R. soon after before signing him to their practice last October.
Bell has yet to appear in an NFL game.
Williams, 25, wound up signing on with the Bengals as an undrafted free agent out of Clemson back in 2015.ย Williams was later added to the Bengals’ practice squad before signing a four-year deal the following year.
Since then, Williams has been on and of the Bengals’ roster.
In 2016, Williams appeared in four games and recorded two tackles and a half sack.
