Mike Klis of 9 News reports that the Broncos are starting rookie QBย Paxton Lynchย against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, which will be theย first start of his NFL career.
Multiple NFL sources tell Klis that Trevor Siemian won’t go because of his shoulder injury, but they did indicate that Siemian could still be on track to start in Week 6 against theย Chargers on Thursday.
According to Adam Schefter, Siemian will likely be inactive tomorrow, which means that Austin Davis will serve as Lynchโs backup.
Indications were that Lynch was going to be the team’s starter, as Siemian was still not at 100 percent based on recent reports.
Lynch, 22, was taken with the No. 26 overall pick after the Broncos traded up from No. 31 overall to get their quarterback of the future.ย He signed a four-year, $9.4 million contract that includes $7.88 guaranteed and is set to make a base salary of $450,000 for the 2016 season.
In 2016, Lynch has completed 14-of-24 passes for 170 yards and a touchdownย for the Broncos.
