Broncos Worked Out Three Players Including QB Bo Levi Mitchell

According to Howard Balzer, the Denver Broncos brought in three free agents for workouts this week including WR Shay Fields, QB Bo Levi Mitchell, and WR Greg Ward.

Of this group, the Broncos signed Fields to their practice squad.

Mitchell, 28, went undrafted out of Eastern Washington in the 2012 NFL Draft and signed on with the Calgary Stampeders of the CFL.

He is a two-time Grey Cup Champion from this year and 2014 and won the Grey Cup MVP award each time. He also won the CFL’s Most Outstanding Player award in 2016 and 2018.

During his six-year CFL career, Levi Mitchell has completed 1,850 passes on 2,860 attempts (64,6) for 24,468 passing yards, 150 touchdowns, and 59 interceptions.

  1. One day the NFL will learn to appreciate that reading defences and making quick decisions with the ball are generally more valuable than having the biggest arm. QBs without big arms learn to anticipate defences quicker because they’ve had to adapt that way. The team that give Bo Levi Mitchell a shot will be the one with the most foresight.
