Update:
Mike Klis of 9News adds thatย CB Adam Jonesย received a one-year deal worth the veteran minimum of $1.015 million, while his agent said the Broncos feel they are capable of going “deep” in this year’s playoffs.
“It’s a good indication John [Elway], Matt [Russell], Vance [Joseph] feel they have a team that can go deep in the playoffs. And when you rep older players that’s a much more important factor. A player like Adam, winning a ring matters,” said Jones’ representation, Peter Schaffer.
ProFootballTalk reports that the Broncos have signedย veteran free agent CB Adam Jonesย to a contract.
Ian Rapoport reports that the Broncos worked out veteran free agent CB Adam Jones on Sunday.
Rapoport adds that “all signs” point to Denver finalizing a contract for Jones.
Jones, 34, is a former first-round pick by the Titans in the 2005 NFL Draft. He was in Tennessee for two years before serving a year-long suspension in 2007 for violating personal conduct policy. Jones later signed with the Cowboys for one season before landing a three-year deal with the Bengals.
Jones was entering the final year of a three-year, $22 million contract that included $6 million guaranteed and would have made a base salary of $5.3 million for the 2018 season, but the Bengals declined his option back in March.
He worked out for the Browns in July but left his visit without a contract.
In 2017, Jones appeared in nine games for the Bengals and recorded 23 total tackles, one interception, four pass defenses, and one forced fumble.
