Browns Claim S Don Jones Off Waivers From Saints, Place LB Scott Solomon On I.R.

The Cleveland Browns announced Wednesday that they’ve claimed DB Don Jones off of waivers from the Saints and placed LB Scott Solomon (knee) on season-ending injured reserve.

Jones, 25, is a former seventh-round pick of the Miami Dolphins back in 2013. He lasted one year in Miami before being claimed off of waivers by the patriots at the start of the 2014 season.

The Saints elected to sign him to their practice squad following roster cuts a few months back, but wound up waiving him on Tuesday to make room for WR Joe Morgan.

This season, Jones has appeared in five games and recorded a single tackle for New Orleans.

Solomon, 26, is a former seventh round pick of the Titans back in 2012. Since then, Soloman has played for the Jets and Buccaneers before joining the Browns last year.

There was talk earlier in the day Solomon could be headed for the injured reserve list with a knee injury, so this doesn’t come as a complete surprise.

His 2015 season ends with him appearing in two games and recording just one tackle for the Browns.
