Update:
Browns DE Chad Thomas is back at the team’s facility after being taken to the hospital earlier in the week. The good news is that Thomas is considered day-to-day with a neck sprain, per Mary Kay Cabot.
According to Scott Petrak, Browns DE Chad Thomas was hospitalized following a neck injury in practice Monday.
Thomas was immobilized and carted off the field on a backboard but reportedly still had feeling in all of his extremities. He’ll stay at University Hospitals for further evaluation and testing.
Browns HC Freddie Kitchens indicated the team was operating out of an abundance of caution. He thinks Thomas may have suffered a stinger and the Browns just wanted to be careful, per Mary Kay Cabot.
Thomas, 23, was a third-round pick by the Browns out of Miami in 2018. He signed a four-year rookie contract worth $4.082 million with a $1.039 million signing bonus.
In 2018, Thomas appeared in four games for the Browns but did not record a statistic.
