Browns Have Shown Interest In Pairing David Carr With His Brother Derek

Free agent QB David Carr tells the Cleveland Plain Dealer that “about six or seven teams” have expressed interest in signing him in the event that they draft his brother, Derek Carr.

Carr didn’t list all of the teams who have expressed interest in him, but he did confirm that the Browns are among them.

Yeah, they’ve definitely been one of those teams that have expressed interest,” said Carr. “There are probably about six or seven teams that have been real interested in that scenario, so we’ll see what happens. It’s going to be exciting.”

This idea came up a few months ago, so this really serves as more of a confirmation that remains a possibility than anything else.

Browns new OC Kyle Shanahan has worked with David in the past while in Houston, so there is at least some familiarity between the two.

Derek Carr has been linked to numerous teams in recent month including the Browns, Titans, Raiders and the Cardinals have even come up a speculative option.

We have Carr going to the Cardinals in the first round of our recently updated 2014 NFL Mock Draft.
