The Cleveland Browns announced Tuesday that they’ve officially placed second-round S Grant Delpit on injured reserve with a torn Achilles.
The Browns also confirmed that they’ve claimed rookie DE Curtis Weaver off of waivers from the Dolphins.
Delpit, 21, was a three-year starter at LSU and earned two consecutive All-American and first-team All-SEC honors. The Browns selected him with the No. 44 pick in this year’s draft.
Delpit signed a four-year, $7,465,060 rookie contract with the Browns that included a $2,989,134 signing bonus.
During his three-year college career at LSU, Delpit recorded 199 tackles, seven sacks, eight interceptions, two forced fumbles, two recoveries, and 24 passes defended over the course of 40 games.
