ESPN’s Jamison Hensley believes that the Browns would like to keep Colt McCoy as Brandon Weeden backup next season.
“If I’m any judge at all about these young guys, that won’t happen,” said Browns president Mike Holmgren regarding a possible quarterback controversy.
Cleveland tried to tradeMcCoy in the days leading up to the draft, but found very little interest in acquiring him. Considering the offers that they received from him, it’s probably a smarter move to keep him as a backup, but there’s obviously no guarantee that things are going to go smoothly next season.
