The Cleveland Browns announced Tuesday that they’ve promoted RB Dontrell Hilliard to the active roster and waived DB Jerimiah McKinnon.
Hilliard, 23, wound up signing on with the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of Tulane. He agreed to a three-year, $1.71 million contract with the Browns but was waived coming out of the preseason.
The Browns later signed Hilliard to their practice squad.
During his college career at Tulane, Hilliard rushed for 2,948 yards on 558 carries (5.3 YPC) to go along with 70 receptions for 740 yards receiving and 34 total touchdowns over the course of 47 games.
