Cox, 25, wound up signing on with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent out of Florida back in 2017. He was waived coming out of the preseason but was later added to their practice squad before eventually promoted to the Panthers’ active roster.
Cox managed to make the 53-man roster last year and was re-signed this offseason as an exclusive rights free agent. Since then, he’s been on and off of their active roster.
For his career, Cox has appeared in 19 games for the Panthers and recoded 17 tackles, no sacks and a fumble recovery.
