The Browns have activated LB Elijah Lee to the roster and waived C Evan Brown in a corresponding move, per Mary Kay Cabot.
Lee was claimed off waivers from the Lions a few days ago and had to clear the testing protocols.
Lee, 24, is a former seventh-round pick of the Vikings back in 2017. He was waived coming out of the preseason before being signed to the Vikings’ practice squad.
The 49ers signed Lee to their active roster soon after and was on and off of their roster before eventually signing on with the Lions this past March.
Detroit opted to waive Lee last Thursday.
In 2020, Lee has appeared in four games for the Lions and recorded one tackle.
Brown, 24, signed on with the Giants as an undrafted free agent out of SMU back in May of 2018. He wound up making their active roster his rookie season but was waived coming out of last year’s preseason.
The Giants signed Brown to their practice squad once he passed through waivers unclaimed and later added him to their practice squad. He bounced on and off New York’s practice squad before the Dolphins signed him to their active roster late in the year. He caught on with the Browns this past offseason.
In 2019, Brown appeared in four games for the Giants and Dolphins.
During his college career, Brown was a four-year starter as a true freshman with SMU. He was an All-American Athletic Conference honorable mention and Campbell Trophy semifinalist his senior season.
