Bruce Arians Likely To Step Away As Cardinals’ HC?

Adam Schefter, citing league sources, reports that Cardinals HC Bruce Arians is likely to step away following Sunday’s game against the Seahawks. However, Arians has reportedly not informed the team of his plans at this point in time.

Meanwhile, ESPN’s Jim Trotter reports that Arians will make his decision after discussing the situation with his wife in the coming days.

There has been a great deal of speculation about Arians’ future as the Cardinals’ head coach, but he’s maintained that he has yet to make any decision about what he’ll do.

Ian Rapoport spoke with Arians last night and said that no decision has been made and he believes the Cardinals have a โ€œhell of a teamโ€ coming back next year.

Rapoport expects Arians to make a quick decision one way or another to allow the team to move on finding a replacement.

Arizona has reportedly made preparations in case this is it for Arians, but they still aren’t giving up hope of convincing him to return for another season.

Arians, 65,ย was hired by the Cardinals back in 2013 after he filled in for Colts HC Chuck Pagano while he was fighting cancer and managed to win Coach of the Year. During his five years with the Cardinals, Arians has led them to a record of 47-30-1 (60.9 percent), which includes two playoff appearances and a trip to the NFC Championship game in 2015.

We’ll have more regarding Arians’ future with the Cardinals as the news is available.
