Buccaneers veteran CB Brent Grimes said the team has told him that they’re interested in re-signing him to a new contract, per Scott Smith.
Grimes, 34, signed on with the Falcons as an undrafted free agent out of Shippensburg back in 2006. He spent six years in Atlanta before signing on with the Dolphins in 2013.
Grimes has played out his two-year, $13,500,000 contract with the Buccaneers and is in line to be an unrestricted free agent in the coming months.
In 2017, Grimes appeared in 13 games for the Buccaneers and recorded 49 tackles, three interceptions, a fumble recovery and 11 pass defenses.ย Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 38 cornerback out of 120 qualifying players.
We’ll have more regarding Grimes and the Buccaneers as the news is available.
