Buccaneers Promote WR Jaydon Mickens & CB John Franklin, Cut Two

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced Tuesday that they’ve promoted WR Jaydon Mickens and CB John Franklin III to their active roster and waived WR Ishmael Hyman and TE Jordan Leggett.

Mickens, 24, wound up signing on with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of Washington back in 2016. He was waived at the start of the season and spent his rookie year on their practice squad before returning to the team on a future/reserve contract in 2017.

The Raiders waived him with an injury designation coming out of the preseason and signed with the Jaguars’ practice squad in September of 2017.

Jacksonville declined to tender him an offer in March and Mickens signed with the Panthers before becoming one of their final roster cuts. The Buccaneers added him to their practice squad last week.

In 2018, Mickens appeared in five games for the Jaguars and totaled 118 kick return yards and another 59 punt return yards and no touchdowns.
