Buccaneers RB Jeff Demps Focusing On Football Career

Buccaneers RB/KR Jeff Demps says that he is putting his track career on hold to focus strictly on football, per Roy Cummings.

Last year, Demps missed most of the offseason in order to prepare for the IAAF World Championships.

Demps, 24, signed with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent out of Florida back in 2012. However, he was later traded to the Buccaneers in a deal that sent RB LeGarrette Blount to the Patriots in return for Demps and a 2013 seventh-round pick.

The Buccaneers could obviously use Demps as their kick returner next season, but he will almost certainly have to compete for a roster spot.
