Buccaneers Re-Sign QB Vincent Testaverde, Activate S Justin Evans From PUP

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced Saturday that they’ve re-signed QB Vincent Testaverde and waived e OLB Kahzin Daniels with an injury designation.

The Bucs also activated S Justin Evans from the PUP list.

Should Daniels clear waivers tomorrow, he would revert to the Buccaneers’ injured serve list.

Testaverde is the son of former Buccaneers QB Vinny Testaverde. He attended Buccaneers’ rookie minicamp earlier this summer before signing a contract with the teams a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, he was waived soon after.

Testaverde spent a year at Texas Tech before transferring to Miami and then ending up at Albany for his final year of college.

During his senior year of college, Testaverde started eight games, throwing for 1,714 yards and 11 touchdowns while completing 53.4 percent of his passes.

Evans, 23, is a former second-round pick of the Buccaneers back in 2017. He’s currently entering the third year of his four-year, $5.19 million contract and stands to make base salaries of $937,662 and $1.17 million over the final two years of the agreement.

In 2018, Evans appeared in 10 games for the Buccaneers and recorded 59 tackles, one interception, a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown and two pass defenses.
