Buccaneers Releasing DB Deone Bucannon

According to Ian Rapoport, the Buccaneers are releasing DB Deone Bucannon before they head to London.

To fill his place on the roster, Tampa Bay signed LB Noah Dawkins off of the Bengals practice squad, per Rapoport.

Bucannon was drafted as a safety but has struggled to find a home in the NFL, shuttling between safety and inside linebacker. He reunited with his former head coach Bruce Arians in Tampa Bay this offseason. however, he has only played sparingly so far this season.

Bucannon, 27, is a former first-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $7,709,200 contract when the Cardinals picked up his fifth-year option last year.

Bucannon left Arizona as an unrestricted free agent this past offseason and signed a one-year deal with the Buccaneers.

In 2019, Bucannon has appeared in five games for the Buccaneers and recorded one tackle.
