Buccaneers Sign DE Larry Webster To Practice Squad, Release FB Austin Johnson

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced Tuesday that they’ve signed DE Larry Webster to the practice squad and released FB Austin Johnson from the unit.

The Buccaneers’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. LB Riley Bullough
  2. OL Mike Liedtke
  3. T Marquis Lucas (Injured)
  4. WR Freddie Martino
  5. LB Eric Nzeocha (International)
  6. WR Bobo Wilson
  7. OT Justin Murray
  8. DT Channing Ward
  9. DB David Rivers
  10. FB Alan Cross
  11. DE Pat O’Connor
  12. DE Larry Webster

Webster, 27, is a former fourth-round pick by the Lions of the 2014 NFL Draft. He completed one year of his four-year, $2,520,584 rookie contract when he was waived by Detroit coming out of the preseason.

The Panthers signed Webster to a future/reserve contract back in January of 2016 and he was one off of their practice squad last year. Unfortunately, Carolina elected to move on from him elected start of the 2017 regular season.

In 2016, Webster appeared in one game for the Panthers and recorded one tackle and no sacks.
